Scholar Athlete Nomination Honoring Outstanding Seniors from the 2010 Football Season

Director and Principal; Once again we are asking for your participation in the National Football Foundation Riverside County Chapter Scholar-Athlete program by nominating one of your fine players for this honor. Those players selected will have their names enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana, as High School Scholar-Athletes. In addition, there will be at least one Scholarship awarded to one of the nominees the night of the Banquet to help defray college expenses. Attached you will find a nomination form that requires you’re immediate attention. We would appreciate if you would take time from your busy schedule to complete the form and make sure we receive your schools nomination by January 17, 2011. Please, only one nominee per school. Nominees should represent the best of both academic and athletic accomplishments. Minimum requirements include a 3.00 GPA; All-League Honorable Mention; and leadership/community service endeavors. In addition, submission of a two to five paragraph Candidate Statement (typed, not more than one page, please) from your nominee on the following topic: What effect has playing high school football had in your personal life. This is a great opportunity to give recognition to these outstanding athletes and a prestigious honor to their resume and transcript. We sincerely hope you will take this opportunity and nominate one of your students. It is our sincere goal to have the participation of EVERY high school football program in Riverside County. Once the nominations are received, the selection committee will determine the 2011 recipients. Each player selected will then be honored at the 6th Annual NFF Riverside County Chapter Scholar-Athlete Awards National Banquet to be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011. Your school does not need to be a member of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame to participate. Your school needs only the desire to honor one of their outstanding student-athletes. However, the Riverside County Chapter would greatly appreciate your support should you decide to become a member. Yearly membership fees are very modest.
